This Privacy Policy explains how Motus Directory ("we", "us") handles information when you use https://motusdirectory.com. Motus Directory is a private commercial service and is not affiliated with FMCSA, USDOT, or motus.dot.gov.

Information we collect

  • Information you submit: name, email, phone, company name, USDOT/MC, and message content via contact or claim-interest forms.
  • Technical data: IP address, user agent, approximate location derived from IP, referring URL, and basic device/browser data for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
  • Public census data: FMCSA Company Census and related open-data fields displayed on directory pages. That data originates from public government sources; we do not treat public census fields as your private account profile.
  • Cookies / local storage: essential cookies for site operation; optional analytics (for example Microsoft Clarity or similar) and, after AdSense approval, advertising cookies from Google and partners when ads are enabled.

How we use information

We use information to operate search and directory pages, respond to contact requests, improve guides and UX, measure traffic, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN, email delivery, analytics, and advertising partners when ads are live) under their respective terms.

Advertising

Publisher account pub-7668356157282857. When Google AdSense (or similar) is enabled on approved pages, third parties may use cookies to serve and measure ads. See Google's advertising policies and opt-out tools for personalized ads. House or network promotions for sister sites (for example O Trucking) are first-party links to real content destinations — not sold personal data.

Retention & security

Contact submissions are retained as long as needed for support and legal obligations. Technical logs rotate on a shorter schedule. We use HTTPS and standard hosting controls; no method of transmission is 100% secure.

Your choices

Email [email protected] or call (682) 978-8641 to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you submitted to us, subject to legal exceptions. Browser controls can block non-essential cookies. Official Motus account privacy is governed by FMCSA / Login.gov — not this policy.

Children

Motus Directory is directed at business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
